Overnight Care

As a small mixed rural practice, Oban Vets provides out of hours cover using a rota of the staff working the day shift. The practice does not have the demand or the manpower to justify a permanent member of staff overnight at the surgery. Hospitalised pets are cared for by the vet on duty that night and in accordance with their individual needs. Cases judged to be stable will be checked in the late evening and first thing in the morning (8am). Less stable cases will receive monitoring and attention appropriate to their needs. The level of this care will be discussed. Where it is felt that continual monitoring is necessary, we may recommend that your pet is transferred to a hospital. Owners of animals may request such a referral if they prefer. It should be noted that the nearest provider of this type of service is in Glasgow.
